ECB Chief Executive Tom Harrison spoke about Andrew Strauss following his appointment as Director, England Cricket.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Saturday confirmed former captain Andrew Strauss as the Director of England cricket, a new position created in their set-up following the exit of Paul Downton as manager of England national cricket team.
The release from ECB informed that Strauss will be looking after the national cricket team’s performance and development programs, along with selection process and player pathway. England coach will be reporting to Strauss. READ: Andrew Strauss confirmed as Director of England cricket
Harrison said after the appointment of Strauss, “Andrew’s breadth of ideas, his passion for England cricket and his proven leadership skills shone out. He was an exceptional England captain, is an authoritative voice on the modern game and has a wealth of experience building successful teams.”
