Michael Clarke departs for 7 against England in second Ashes Test at Lord’s

Michael Clarke did not last long and was out for a low score when he hit Mark Wood straight to Gary Ballance at square leg. Australia are 383 for three with Adam Voges joining Steven Smith. Clarke did not look at his best and kept flirting with danger outside off. Just the ball before, he was hesitant to pull one and the next ball, he hit straight to the fielder and was out for a score of 7 in 32 balls. Rogers and Steven Smith shared a 284-run stand for Australia for any wicket against England at Lord’s. Australia are currently 362 for the loss of two wickets and are looking very good. Skipper Michael Clarke then joined Smith at the crease. Play began on Day Two with a little drama as Rogers was hit on his head, trying to duck under a short ball from James Anderson. The England players rushed to him to inquire if he was all right and the play was halted as Rogers got some help from the physio.

Earlier, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first, they put up a score of 337 for the loss of the just one wicket. Rogers and Smith were unbeaten after scoring their tons. Moeen Ali was the lone wicket-taker for England, when he had David Warner caught at wide mid off by Anderson for 38.
