Batting first, India scored 178 for 5 in 20 overs in the first T20 International (T20I) encounter against Zimbabwe at Harare. Though no one in specific dominated with the bat, Ajinkya Rahane (33 from 32 balls), Murali Vijay (34 from 19), and Robin Uthappa (39 not out from 35) all contributed. Zimbabwe also bowled 25 extras (including 13 wides). Barring Christopher Mpofu (3 for 33 from 4 overs) and Graeme Cremer (1 for 20 from 4 overs) no Zimbabwe bowler had an impact. In fact, when it came to conceding extras, every single bowler erred. Taurai Muzarabani and Neville Madziva, the debutants, conceded 82 between them from 7 overs.
