There’s a reason Brendon McCullum is known as one of the most fearless batsmen in world cricket, he may not necessarily be ‘the most’ destructive or the most big hitting, but as far as sheer guts is concerned it is hard to match that possessed in abundance by the now Kiwi skipper McCullum. This video shows McCullum play some breathtakingly fearless shots against Shaun Tait in a Twenty20 International (T20I) between New Zealand and Australia. At the time, Tait was possibly the fastest bowler in world cricket, which makes those shots all that more impressive. The batting was exhibition of sheer instinct rather than preplanned or preempted shots. McCullum was in the form of his life that day and had already scored a century when Tait had to face him in the penultimate over. McCullum went down on one knee when the first ball came as seering pace, he then scooped the ball over his head and timed it so amazingly that it sailed over the keepers head for six! The fourth ball of the over came in at 155 kmph and McCullum had the cheek to attemot the same shot, he even slipped a little bit but yet got such timing that it went well beyong the back boundary for another six.
