Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has expressed his delight after earning an ODI recall for the upcoming five-match series against England and insisted that his side would try their level best to win the series. The 34-year-old, who was dropped from the preceding Ashes series after the first Test, said that it had been a tough couple of weeks in view of losing the prestigious series. Watson said that the team were excited to play the limited-overs game after the World Cup final, adding that he hoped they would be able to win the one-day series, and personally he was able to put in a good performances as well, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. News is doing rounds that after the terrible loss in Ashes 2015 Australia contemplated the need to have a genuine all-rounder in the side even if he is not in his prime touch. Also, Watson has a better record in ODIs and is known to hit towering sixes in the limited overs format along with a healthy economy rate of 4.95 which is pretty decent considering today’s power hitting, better bats and rules which are getting more and more tuned towards helping the batsmen in ODIs. Australia will face England in the first one-day international on Thursday and will play the lone-T20 on Monday. Of 48 T20Is that Watson has featured in, he has a healthy strike rate of 143.96 which includes 10 fifties. He has also taken 39 wickets in T20Is and he takes a wicket every 19th ball he bowls.
