England’s openers score quick fifties to give team electric start against Pakistan in 2nd ODI at Abu Dhabi

Alex Hales and Jason Roy fought off poor form and the blues of a horrible series opener against Pakistan in the 2nd One-Day International (ODI) at Abu Dhabi to score dual fifties. They had an edgy start to the innings and had a few close calls early on but they batted through that period and increased in confidence and timing with each passing delivery. In no time they started scoring at run-a-ball and the bowlers appeared quite helpless in face off the assault. Roy got to his fifty first but got out soon after. They were watchful against pace bowling but were quite merciless against the spinners punishing anything that erred even marginally. Roy was the first to get to his fifty and brought it up with a four of the skillful Wahab Riaz. He failed to capitalise on the start however and fell to the same bowler in his next over. Earlier England won the toss and elected to bat on the flat Abu Dhabi track which was further expected to be void of life due to even the  first match being played at the same wicket. England had a horrible start with the bat in the first game and looked to rectify that aspect and did so effectively.
