It has not been easy for New Zealand to pick up wickets as Sri Lanka have put on a good show. Milinda Siriwardana and Rangana Herath had looked to absorb anything that New Zealand bowlers have to ever. Herath particularly was targeted with short pitch deliveries. Dinesh Chandimal and Kithuruwan Vithanage wanted to get a score on early without losing any more wickets as Sri Lanka were already 4 down. Dinesh was looking good for a century but that was not to be as Southee in the very first over struck, picking Chandimal for 83 playing his very first delivery. Southee did also manage to pick up Vithanage in his second over of the day as well. Vithanage provided good support to Chandimal last evening, made 22 off 54 balls.
