The hosts Bangladesh take on the visiting Zimbabwe side for one final Twenty20 International (T20I) encounter as both the nations play the fourth match of the series at Khulna. The Zimbabwe team, after two consecutive defeats, won the third match with full domination doing exceptionally well with both bat and ball and somehow keep the hopes alive to end the series in a draw, while Bangladesh, who are leading the series 2-1, would definitely not mind a win at home prior to the mega event of ICC World T20 2016 in India. From the very beginning of the fourth T20I, the Zimbabwe side looked keen to win as opener Vusi Sibanda went all guns blazing at the Bangladesh bowlers. Bangladesh, who were playing with four debutants, looked quite helpless as Zimbabwe openers scored the fastest T20I fifty for their team. Major contributions came from Sibanda who scored 44, Malcolm Waller, who scored 49 and Sean Williams, who scored 32 to put up a huge total of 187/6 after Zimbabwe’s 20 overs of batting. Only Shakib Al Hasan’s bowling figures looked impressive as he took 3 wickets and thus became the sixth international player to have 400 international wickets and 8000 international runs after his name.
Bangladesh batsmen also failed to make any impact with their performance. The two batsmen to need a mention are Sabbir Rahman and Nurul Hasan. While Sabbir scored a 32-ball 50, Nurul scored 30 runs but the efforts could not save their side from a 31-run defeat. Zimbabwe bowler Graeme Cremer performed well with the ball as usual as he bagged 3 wickets for 18 runs.
