England will take on South Africa in the first of five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) at Bloemfontein and skipper Eoin Morgan is looking to further South Africa’s misery. He may not have played the Test matches himself but is looking to cash in on the success England enjoyed in the premier format and he believes he has the team at hand to achieve just that. He stressed that England’s ODI squad features many players who also played the Tests which makes their task that much easier in terms of adjusting. “One advantage we have had in this tour, more than before, is that there are more guys who were in the test team, which is good,” Morgan said as per a report in sport24.co.za.

Chris Jordan believes South Africa will be bursting with confidence given that in their previous ODI assignment they managed to beat India in an away series. They just beat India in their own conditions in one-day cricket, so they will be full of confidence.

Jordan explained that England has adopted a change in approach to ODIs which has them focus more on their strengths than those of the opposition. “In the last few months we have been focusing on ourselves and what we can do to hurt the opposition, rather than what the opposition can do. Obviously they have some very good players you have to be wary of, but we are more focusing on ourselves and that is a key strength for us,” he said.
