West Indies find themselves struggling against Australia at 85 for three at Lunch on Day One of the First Test. Australia will be quite content with that session, especially given that assistance for the pacers from the pitch was minimal. Shai Hope, Kraigg Brathwaite and Darren Bravo are the batsmen that fell in this period. LIVE SCORECARD: West Indies vs Australia 1st Test, Day 1 at Dominica

West Indies came out with good positive intent, but were pushed onto the backfoot when Josh Hazlewood claimed Brathwaite’s wicket for 10, in the sixth over. Ten overs later, Nathan Lyon got rid of Darren Bravo for 19 runs. Hope was batting quite fluently and scored 36 runs before edging a drive to gully where Shaun Marsh took a stunner. Marlon Samuels and debutant Shane Dowrich are the batsmen at the crease at present and they’ll hope to put on a solid stand when they walk back out. Samuels was uncharacteristically cautious in his approach today, and has scored just three off 22 deliveries. Dowrich has looked more comfortable scoring 15 off 33 balls.

Off all the bowlers, Nathan Lyon will be most hopeful to comeback after lunch and make an impact. He has procured a really threatening amount of turn from the pitch which could be vital as the day progresses. Australia will have their eyes on getting West Indies dismissed cheaply after enjoying a nice start.

Brief scores:

West Indies 85 for 3 in 26 overs (Shai Hope 36, Darren Bravo 19; Nathan Lyon 1 for 18) vs Australia.
