The second Twenty20 International (T20I) between Ireland and Scotland at the Bready Cricket Club on Friday was washed out due to ceaseless rain, with Scotland retaining the 1-0 lead in the three-match series courtesy their six-wicket win in the opening match.
The downpour had stopped for a bit to allow the captains to come to the centre for the toss, with Scotland electing to field after winning it. While Ireland announced three changes to their playing eleven, with George Dockrell, Andrew Balbirnie and Alex Cusack coming in place of Andy McBrine, David Rankin and Max Sorensen. Scotland, on the other hand, opted to draft Con de Lange and Gavin Main in place of Sayfaan Sharif and Craig Wallace. Updates: Ireland vs Scotland, 2nd T20I at Bready
In the first game of the series, Scotland had restricted Ireland to 146 for the loss of five wickets, with David Rankin top-scoring for the Irish with a 37-ball 34. Scotland, in return, were gliding towards the target courtesy a blazing 34-ball 60 by Matthew Cross. Barring the 11th over that was bowled by Tyrone Kane, in which the debutant picked three wickets in the first five balls of his international career, the Irish were never in the game. Richie Berrington and Craig Wallace formed a 56-run unbeaten stand for the fifth wicket, with the latter hitting the winning runs for Scotland.
