Sri Lanka and Pakistan face off on the fourth day of the first Test at Galle on Saturday. Pakistan reached a score of 118 for five at the end of Day Four, trailing Sri Lanka’s first innings score of 300 by 182 runs. Asad Shafiq and Sarfraz Ahmed were batting on 14 and 15 respectively at the time of stumps, with Dhammika Prasad being the pick among the bowlers with a couple of early wickets that pushed Pakistan on the backfoot. The visitors required 33 more runs to avoid follow-on before rain brought a pre-mature end to the day’s play. Silva smashed 125, his second Test century, while he received some support from Angelo Mathews (19), Dinesh Chandimal (23), and Kithuruwan Vithanage (18). Sri Lanka were eventually bundled out for 300 as Wahab Riaz and Zulfiqar Babar claimed three wickets each. In reply, Pakistan suffered early blows and were reeling at 35 for 3 in their 9th over.
