One-off South Asian cricketing giants Pakistan face off against European cricketing giants England on Day 3 of the first of the three-match Test series at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. England openers Alastair Cook and Moeen Ali started off well following Pakistan’s mammoth innings of 523 for the loss of eight wickets as Shoaib Malik’s exquisite knock of 245 and Asad Shafiq’s impressive ton of 103 put Pakistan on top. However, Cook remained unbeaten on 39 along with Ali on 15 as England continue to trail by 467 runs with still all the 10 wickets in hand and three days of play to go.
