David Warner and wife Candice became proud parents of a baby girl, who was born on Thursday. Warner was present at the hospital along with his first-born Ivy Mae waiting for the good news. The new born has been named Indi Rae. Warner was part of the first One-Day International (ODI) for Australia, who beat India by five wickets, chasing 310. Steven Smith and George Bailey scored centuries and put on a record-breaking partnership to help Australia win. Warner was given left on paternity leave soon after the first match and Usman Khawaja was called as cover for Warner for the next two matches. Cricket Australia (CA) was quick to congratulate the couple on Twitter. READ:India vs Australia 2015-16: Usman Khawaja to replace David Warner for 2nd ODI at Brisbane
On Khawaja’s inclusion, Australia selector Rod Marsh said, “Usman [Khawaja] has been in fantastic form this season and was unlucky to miss out on a place in our squad for the Victoria Bitter ODI Series in the first place. This call-up is a reward for that form and it is great to have someone of his quality to step into the squad in David’s absence. We wish both David and Candice well and look forward to welcoming David back into the squad when circumstances allow.”
